I am presently a full-time music professor at Bergen Community College in Paramus, New Jersey where I direct the music business program and the jazz ensemble and teach classes in music business, music appreciation, music history, vocal workshop, jazz history and music theory. In my classes, I am able to apply my professional experience as a songwriter and performer to keep the students aware of current issues and technology in the music business. My involvement in the industry allows me to present prominent guests from the creative and business communities.
Music Business Program
It is a necessity for anyone pursuing a professional or semi-professional career in music to learn the ins and outs of the music business. Whether you're interested in hip hop, rock, folk, classical or jazz, a basic understanding of the complex web of legal and business principles is an essential ingredient for success in the industry. Here is a list of important web resources for anyone interested in the contemporary landscape of the music business.
Performance Ensembles
The collaborative performance of music brings together a diverse community all working together for a common goal: to create a groove that feels and sounds good! In our musical community, everyone is welcome to explore their musical potential and play a variety of jazz, pop and world music styles.
Music Education
I am committed to using my background in ethnomusicology and performance to encourage greater musical participation and active listening in the academic and non-academic communities. I am now collaborating with Friends of Nepal in New Jersey for present cultural performances and music documentation. In addition, I have presented educational musical programs at schools, libraries and museums.

Community Participation
Music plays a key role in the life of all types of communities. In contemporary society, communities span the local to the global and the real to the virtual. I play an active role in all my communities, playing music in a variety of settings: bluegrass and old-time American music with the 9W Ramblers, percussion with a local Afro-Caribbean drumming ensemble, rock and roll with the Glenbrook Boys, children's music with Jeffrey Friedberg and the Bossy Frog Band, piano accompanist for a community children's chorus, singalongs and jams at gatherings of family and friends ....

Many events have taken place at our important local institution, The Nyack Center.
